Gifted and Talented

sailboatCharles Pinckney Elementary School provides S.A.I.L. (Students Actively Involved in Learning) classes for students identified as Academically Gifted and Talented. These classes are designed to challenge students with rigorous, complex class work in Language Arts, Science, Social Studies and Math. Students identified as Academically Gifted and Talented must demonstrate high performance ability or potential in academic areas on Nationally Normed Aptitude Abilities, Achievement, and Performance tests.
Administrators, parents, teachers, and students may make referrals for the fall testing. Testing for this program is given to all South Carolina 2nd graders and nominated students from 3rd, 4th and 5th grade in late October or early November of each school year.
Nomination forms are available in the school office.
