2016-2017 School Year

“No one has yet fully realized the wealth of sympathy, kindness, and generosity hidden in the soul of a child.  The effort of every true education should be to unlock that treasure.” –  ~ Emma Goldman

All About Me:

I live in the Charleston area with my husband, Beau and 3 year old daughter, Presley.  We have a Malshipoo puppy named, Sully. J I enjoy going to the beach, exercising, reading, and spending time with family and friends. My family and I love living in Charleston and taking advantage of everything this beautiful city has to offer. We love it here!

I am originally from Columbia, South Carolina where I grew up with my parents, two older sisters, and a younger brother. After graduating from the University of South Carolina, I taught 3rd grade in Richland School District II.  I also taught 4th and 5th grade gifted and talented in the same elementary school that I attended in grade school. It was really neat to teach with some of the same teachers that taught me.

I moved to Charleston in 2004 and have been teaching 4th grade at Pinckney for 12 years.  I was honored to receive the Reading Teacher of the Year Award at Pinckney in 2012.  As a teacher, it is my responsibility to encourage, guide, and provide a safe learning environment for students to be successful. All students are unique and have their own special way of learning.  I will use a variety of teaching methods to reach these individual needs.  I would love to see all my students reach for the stars and dream big for their future!

I’m extremely honored to be a part of the Pinckney family, and I’m looking forward to a wonderful school year.

4th Grade ROCKS!

To create a challenging, engaging, and positive learning environment for all children, recognizing and meeting their individual needs and capitalizing on their unique strengths.
